2016 ‘McLaren by S.T. Dupont’ Collection
In 2016, McLaren celebrates its 50th anniversary in F1. S.T. Dupont’s partnership with the prestigious racing team is making its mark once again, successfully combining their shared passions for innovation, performance and excellence. McLaren entered F1 in 1966 and is one of the most successful Grand Prix teams in history. The team has won 20 world championships and secured 182 Grand Prix victories. The greatest names in racing have taken the wheel for McLaren, from James Hunt to Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button, not forgetting Niki Lauda, Emerson Fittipaldi, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Mika Häkkinen and Lewis Hamilton.
French brand S.T. Dupont was selected by McLaren to equip its drivers and entire racing team for their travel requirements. In 2016, the two world champions Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button are stylishly sporting the colours of the new ‘McLaren by S.T. Dupont’ collection.
The collection makes use of elegant materials, perfect finishes and, in 2016, for the very first time, technical leather – a diamond perforated full-grain leather with a brilliant black finish along with an elegant and delicate McLaren-rocket red topstitching that combines lightness, elegance and sportiness. Now available to all supporters of the grand prix team, the collection features a range of leather goods identical to the ones created for Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button – a backpack, a document holder, a wallet, a credit card holder and a passport holder.
The ‘McLaren 2016’ ballpoint pen, based on the Défi model, is a streamlined writing instrument that offers exceptional writing comfort thanks to the ideal fluidity of its gel ink. Its tapered bodywork combines a high-precision injected metal framework and a casing made from diamond perforated full-grain leather with a brilliant black finish.
The ‘McLaren 2016’ cufflinks are artistic reproductions of the grand prix team’s cars, majestically displayed on a black base.
With its new ‘McLaren by S.T. Dupont’ collection limited to 1966 pieces, the French brand founded in 1872 is demonstrating its modernity and thirst for competition more than ever. Like the two world champion drivers it is equipping in 2016, it provides racing lovers with the ideal objects for combining innovation, performance and excellence every day.
